GLOBE Business has a new set of ambassadors, who embody business-personal life balance. They are multi-faceted entrepreneurs who have made their business booming and yet enjoy their other passions in life. To honor the inspiring ambassadors, Globe Business held “Joie de Vivre,  The Globe Business Hat Party” on January 11th at Prive Luxury Club.

The ambassadors for Globe Business are: Amina Aranaz-Alunan, owner of Aranaz; Lennie Dionisio, Managing Director of Tomato; Jaime Daez, owner of Fully Booked;  Rose Ann Bautista, owner and vice president for marketing and retail operations of Fino Leatherwear, Inc.; Rex Puentespina, owner and head of Puentespina Orchids & Tropical Plants Inc.; Happy Ongpauco-Tiu, CEO of Happy Concept Group of Companies; Leo Riingen, owner and CEO of Informatics Philippines, Inc., led by world-class designer Kenneth Cobonpue.

“We honor some of our most admirable  Filipino entrepreneurs. They are not only the best because they are successful; they also inspire us all to live a more complete, more balanced and more fulfilling life,” said Jesus Romero, Head of Globe Business.

Romero added that it’s Globe’s mission to help entrepreneurs run their businesses simpler and more efficient at less cost .

“With our offerings, we can help you go on a vacation for weeks and still have control over your business operations. You can monitor the activities in your office even if you are out having dinner with your friends or spending time with your family or doing your favorite sport and hobby. By streamlining your operations, you can have time for things that really matter to you. You can have joie de vivre that you deserve,” he explained.

Joy of living

The fun-filled hat party was aptly titled “Joie de vivre”, meaning “joy of living” as Globe Business’ aim is to help Filipino entrepreneurs live their lives to the fullest.

Globe Telecom President Ernest Cu explained to the new ambassadors, “We chose you because you represent what is admirable and inspiring in the Filipino entrepreneur. You inspire us by creating balance and harmony between your work and your life and making a positive difference in the welfare of your family, friends, employees, clients and society at large.”

The new ambassadors were each awarded an Official Globe Business Ambassador Hat designed by designer, corsetière, and milliner extraordinaire Mich Dulce.

Kenneth Cobonpue, meanwhile, designed the hat party’s memento, a Yoda miniature, his most popular piece. In a video message, the critically-accalimed designer also shared a piece of advice to everyone who is into business.

“Always have curiosity and passion for work and for life. In order to always have that Joie de Vivre, we must always retain a child-like curiosity toward the world and our businesses,” he said.

The ambassadors

Amina Aranaz-Alunan is a fashion icon who has been a role model to many Filipinas. As a bag designer and a school director, her day is always packed with work as well as her responsibilities as a wife and mom to three children. She has been called a super woman because of her unwavering composure in balancing business, family and personal lives, and her advocacies.

Lennie Dionisio is the woman behind Tomato, which currently has 19 branches nationwide. The local fashion brand offers stylish, high-quality apparel and accessories for women, and has recently opened a line of clothing for men. Despite her busy schedule she is able to enjoy her hobbies which include traveling and playing badminton.

Certified booklover Jaime Daez owns Sketchbooks, Inc. that handles Fully Booked and a couple more of specialty bookstores. Daez’ latest venture is a home furnishing company called Domus. Jaime is an audiophile who “can’t live without music” and has a vast collection of CDs and DVDs.

Rose Ann Bautista, owner and vice president for marketing and retail operations of Fino Leatherwear, Inc. has mastered balancing her time for work, family, and keeping her body fit. She and her husband also launched their new business two years ago—a leather furniture outfit called Skin.

Rex Puentespina is quite famous down south because of Puentespina Orchids & Tropical Plants Inc. in Davao. Besides managing his business, Rex is a competitive sailor—he has won in national races or regattas for yachts and hobie craft. He is currently National Championship Chairman of the Philippine Inter-island Sailing Foundation or PHILSAF.

Globe Business also recognized Happy Ongpauco-Tiu as a brand ambassador. Despite her busy schedule as the Vice President for Operations of Barrio Fiesta Company and managing the Happy Concept Group of Companies—which handles various kinds of businesses, including restaurants, party-themed carts, and a beauty clinic. Business, Happy says, is her great passion—but adds that her life would be less than happy if she isn’t able to devote time to her husband and kids. So she maximizes her use of the Internet and other telecoms products to give her more time for her family outside of work.

Another inspiring entrepreneur is Leonardo Riingen, CEO of Informatics Philippines, Inc. who also owns and manages IT and telecommunications companies. His job eats a lot of his time and requires him to travel frequently, but still has time to do his other hobbies and interests like photography, tennis and badminton. He also makes it a point to spend quality time with his wife and children.

Last but not the least, leading the pack is Kenneth Cobonpue , a critically-acclaimed industrial designer and recognized as one of the top designers in the world. Clients of his furniture designs range from affluent Filipinos to Hollywood celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and Robert de Niro. He has won the prestigious design awards in Europe and Asia and has regular exhibitions in Paris and New York. He won the Prix D’Excellence Coup de Cour in 2011 and was one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Philippines in 2004.
